At today’s “Salon BER” at the Immocom, representatives of renowned project development and investment companies as well as credit institutions from the region interacted with Aletta von Massenbach, CEO of Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH, and Ilona Koch, Director Commercial & Real Estate Management at the airport operating company, to discuss the role of BER and the new HORIZN BER CITY district to be developed.
“We have adapted our key idea for the HORIZN BER CITY district to the current market situation in order to provide scope for issues of resilience as well as climate requirements and value addition. The objective is both to ensure the airport evolves into a business hub and to do more justice to the needs of the region and its inhabitants,” Aletta von Massenbach explained.
Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH sees it as its responsibility to lay the foundations for the development of HORIZN BER CITY and provide the right transportation and media parameters. The collaborative approach intrinsic to the forthcoming, two-tier concept tender process in line with the German Concessions Act not only guarantees a great deal of transparency but also creates space for new concepts and ideas on utilization, while likewise affording the investment and project development companies great flexibility.
